QUICK START
No tools. No wiring. Under 10 minutes.
Use the included alcohol wipe to clean the rear of your helmet. Remove any grease, oils, or residue. Let it dry completely before continuing.
Use the included alignment template to find the correct position. Centre the mount on the rear of the helmet. For Shoei NXR2, RF-1400, or Z-8 helmets, use the Shoei-specific mount — sold separately.
Peel the backing from the 3M VHB adhesive. Press the mount firmly onto the helmet for 60 seconds. Leave 24 hours before riding — the adhesive cures under pressure over time.
Slide the Brake Free unit onto the mount until it clicks. Power on. The unit calibrates automatically on your first ride.

Under 10 minutes for most riders. The longest part is the 24-hour cure time — the 3M VHB adhesive bonds permanently under pressure overnight. You can prep the night before your next ride.
None. Everything you need is in the box: the unit, two mounts (Universal and XL), an alignment template, an alcohol wipe, and the Quick Start Guide.
Start with the Universal Mount. If it doesn't sit flush on your helmet's rear surface, switch to the XL Mount. Both are included in the box. Shoei NXR2, RF-1400, and Z-8 owners must use the Shoei-specific mount, sold separately.
Yes, as long as more than 60% of the foam adhesive contacts the helmet surface, the bond is secure. For deeper ridges, email us at mailus@brakefreetech.eu — we can supply additional 3M VHB strips.
Clip the Brake Free unit onto the mount for grip, then rotate it back and forth in small increments. It rolls off cleanly leaving no residue. Do not use dental floss or plastic cards.
No. The 3M VHB adhesive leaves practically no residue. The mount material is the same soft plastic used in premium helmet accessories and does not scratch or stress the helmet shell.
No. Once removed, the adhesive bond is broken permanently. Order an additional mount to fit on a second helmet.
